Racer Appreciation Party Announced at NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl Event
Date: Friday, June 20

"Attention in the pits, attention in the pits… all NMRA and NMCA racers and crew are cordially invited to the 6th Annual Nitto Tire Racer Appreciation Party hosted by Bassani Xhaust.” This party will be held at the Motive Gear NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl of Street Legal Drag Racing at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, IL, on Friday, July 18th. The party will run from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM and will feature lots of food, drink and music.

Official party host, Daryl Bassani, is sure to bring this party to new heights in 2008. Last year his top secret punch and hot wings kept the revelry going well into the night. The party will be located on the manufacturers midway between the Nitto Tire rig and the Bassani Xhaust display.

“This party has always been a great time at Route 66 and is a chance for our racers and sponsors to get together and have some fun,” said Charlie Harmon of ProMedia Events. “Nitto Tire and Bassani Xhaust always throw a great party and go the extra mile for our competitors.”

NMCA and FSC to Sponsor AETC Conference
Date: Friday, June 13

The NMCA and Fastest Street Car magazine are pleased to announce official sponsorship of the 2008 Advanced Engineering Technology Conference. The AETC Conference, which will take place December 8-10, 2008, in Orlando, Florida, will feature LSx performance and will host many of the top manufacturers of LS performance products as well as notable engine builders and engineers who specialize in this dynamic platform. It is a natural that the NMCA and FSC would sponsor AETC in '08 because of their experience developed with the 2007 and 2008 LSX Shootout events that are held annually at the NMCA World Finals. The AETC Conference will feature special seminars, Q&A with industry experts, and several special events. This is a "must attend" event for anyone serious about LSx performance.

"There is no doubt that the LSx segment of the performance aftermarket is red hot and represents huge potential for many of our NMCA sponsors," said Steve Wolcott, CEO of ProMedia, the parent company of the NMCA series. "Our 2007 GM Performance Parts LSX Shootout event was the largest gathering of LS-powered race cars in history and it showed the huge potential of this market and these specific vehicles. The LS segment is still in its infancy and LSx racers represent new customers for the NMCA and our sponsors."

Jake "The Snake" Amatisto, FSC's technical editor, will represent FSC and the NMCA at the AETC Conference and he will share our unique perspective towards the LSx market. FSC acquired a '00 Chevy Camaro SS and created the LS Wonder build-up to educate readers on the huge power potential of this engine . . .

Haynes Scheduled For Heart Surgery
Date: Thursday, June 12

Pro Street standout Randall Haynes is scheduled to have triple-bypass surgery tomorrow (6-13). According to car owner Brian Shaw, Haynes began to have symptoms while driving home to Virginia after this weekend’s NMCA event at Atco N.J.
According to Shaw, after checking with his physician Monday, it was recommended that Haynes have an angiogram, which was completed yesterday, where severe blockage was reveled. It was determined earlier today by a cardiologist and heart surgeon that the best course of action would be an immediate triple-bypass.
The surgery will be performed at CJW Medical Center Chippenham Campus in Richmond, Va.
Prayers and well wishes are encouraged. Simply click the following link:
